Course Description:
Process safety management (PSM) is important in some general industrial settings for protecting members of the workforce. Highly Hazardous Chemicals (HHC) may be discharged in these situations, causing significant danger to both personnel and employers. By enrolling in Process Safety Management for General Industry, participants will acquire the PSM training necessary to remain safe in environments that frequently include these chemicals. General industry personnel can contribute to workplace safety by adhering to adequate process safety management (PSM) standards.
Course Goal:
The course aims at providing participants with better understanding of the important role that PSM plays in the workplace. They will also learn how to follow proper PSM processes when working near HHC. Additionally, participants who complete this course will better understand OSHA’s PSM standard and be prepared to safely handle HHC release.

By the end of this Course the participant will be able to:

- Identify the necessary requirements to organize management of change (MOC) to control hazards
- Contrast mechanical integrity vs. reliability
- Evaluate an incident investigation to share its lessons with others
