The new NEBOSH International Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (IGC) focuses on the role of a real-life health and safety professional. It looks at the real, everyday risks that people encounter and how to manage them to help protect people and profits.
You’ll develop the essential risk management skills to create a safe and healthy workplace. And, you’ll have the foundation knowledge to make recommendations to your employer to help them improve health and safety management.

The Certificate provides a sound basis for evaluating risks and hazards in any country, in any business. Examination:
- Unit IG1: The paper-based exam is being replaced by an open-book examination (OBE) which is a scenario based assessment completed at home. The trainee has 24 hours to complete this.
- Unit IG2 is assessed by practical assessment carried out at the trainee workplace and must be submitted one week after the OBE.
Exams are held every 2 months throughout the year
