Course Description:
This course covers important topics related to power plant electrical system.
These topics cover those parts associated with connecting the station to the grid and the ones that distribute power to the auxiliary systems inside the station are also included. Voltage control and the type of over voltage in power systems preventing any voltage increases (SWELLS) and its importance in power system control or voltage control are included. The reactive power control is also the main desire of this short course as well as the voltage control. This includes a functional description of electrical system details, 380 kV system, 13.8 kV, 4.16 kV, and 480 V systems. The course will include another objective for Plant blackout, start power supply system
Course Goal:
To enhance the delegate knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to understand power plant, identify power quality and harmonic problems, and avoid such problems either during design or during the normal and emergency operation of the electric power system
