Course Description:
Building better control systems requires a clear understanding of digital control, distributed control systems (DCS’s), programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), This program provides fundamental knowledge of process automation and control systems. Participants will learn PLC functionality and its detailed configuration and will be able to design and implement advanced PLC logic using ladder / function block programming. Participants will also go through hands on practical training on PLC (programming).
Participants will be familiarizing with DCS architecture and basic tasks that DCS technicians may be asked to perform. After completing this program, the trainees should be able to describe the architectural organization of DCS field components, central components, and control loops. They should also be able to describe ways that a DCS technician typically works with a DCS.
This program introduces the general maintenance requirements of a DCS, PLC. It covers troubleshooting techniques using self-diagnosis and the various diagnostic displays available to the technician, as well as safe and proper component replacement procedures for cards, modules and power supplies.
This course provides a detailed coverage of all the features, advantages, selection criteria of distributed control systems (DCSs), programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), by several leading experts. It also provides a comparison of the various benefits and improvements that these equipment and systems have provided in different industries. All the features and advantages of the next generation of DCS’s and PLC’s (state of the art technology) will also be provided.
Course Goal:
To enhance the participants’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to understand digital control, DCS’s, PLC’s and modern tuning techniques
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course the participant will be able to:
