This course covers detailed well planning and optimization at the rig site are essential in the present business environment. This course puts all the pieces together for an integrated systems view of well planning and construction. Also in this course, technical concepts are reviewed and specific design steps and tools are used for the key planning processes of casing design, drilling fluid, hydraulics, bit selection running conditions and cementing program. Case studies are analyzed and worked as team projects, and participants are encouraged to bring case studies to class.
To enhance the participants' knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to have a through understanding of the entire well planning, implementation and analysis process, and specific design processes and checklists
By the end of this course the participant will be able to understand and deal with the following drilling aspects:
Rotary Drilling Bits
Drill String Design
Drill String Failure
Factors Affecting Rate of penetration
Casing Setting Depth Selection
Well read equipment
Drilling engineers, drilling supervisors, senior engineers and team leaders in drilling engineering/ operations.
